Snooker Spread Betting Markets Explained

Below we describe the more common snooker spread betting markets. You will find that each spread betting firm will introduce additional markets, sometimes unique to them, especially for special sporting events.

Rules for each market may vary between spread betting firms, especially for markets where points are allocated for specific events, so always ensure you fully understand the rules of a market before placing a bet.

Tournament Index

The spread represents the performance of an individual player in a tournament. Points are awarded according to their performance. The points allocated may vary from one spread bet firm to another.

e.g.

winner = 100 points
runner-up = 70 points
losing semi-finalist = 50 points
losing quarter-finalist = 33 points
losing in the 2nd round = 20 points

This gives you the opportunity to predict not only how well a player will perform, but how badly they may do as well.

Tournament Ton Ups

The aggregate of all individual breaks over 100 during a tournament. It is only the points scored over 100 that are counted. (e.g. 127 = 27 points)

Total Tournament Centuries

The total number of breaks of 100 or over throughout a tournament.

Total Wipeouts

The total number of frames won to love (0 points) throughout a tournament.

Point Supremacy

This spread represents how easily a player will win their match. A player is awarded points for winning plus points for each frame they win by.

e.g.

winner = 10 points
frame supremacy = 3 points per frame

Total 50 Ups

The aggregate of all individual breaks over 50 during a match. It is only the points scored over 50 that are counted. (e.g. 64 = 14 points)

Player Performance

The spread represents the overall performance of a player during a match. Points are awarded according to the success of the player. The points allocated may vary from one spread bet firm to another.

e.g.

25 points for winning
5 points per frame won
10 points per century break
5 points per 50 break
-5 points per wipeout (frame lost to love)
10 points per frame won on a re-spotted black
